I’ve had a few horror experiences at some of my jobs, but I’m sure you have better ones. Mine involve having to play strip poker with the assistant manager in order to get promoted (I opted out out of it), having to tell a series of lies to a manager in order for any work to go the right way, having to prove that a manager stole my tips on several different occasions, and having a crazy old man grab my shoulder and shake me while telling me I had to quit the job before the place went bankrupt because the economy is terrible and I had to ask someone to escort him out of the building. The stress these types of things have caused have been horrible, but I’m still young and will surely experience much worse in the future. What’s your work horror story?
What’s your best work-related horror story?

My work horror story and it is 100% true. Names have been edited to protect these for privacy purposes. I will call myself e_cool.
First I was sorting out mail for that one clerk on July 1. His name was E. One month later to my surprise the supervisor came up to me and yelled the mail was not processed by E. I would assume the clerk E should have processed his incoming mail a long time ago so that there is no more mail evidence in “my writing” that said I sorted, “7-1 app bundle, 7-1 liens bundle, etc and the supervisor would have not noticed anything and I would not have been in trouble. It is that guys fault for not processing his mail and forgetting about it. I do not want to blame E because I have always had a great relationship with him. What the supervisor did was invaded E privacy and searched his whole desk and drawer to measure the backlog and see if he was caught up.
The conversation between me and the supervisor about E’s mail incident was something like this.
SUPERVISOR: “e_cool! Come here now!”
E_COOL: “Okay”
SUPERVISOR (yelling): “what is this stack of mail that says 7-1 in your writing that was not processed!!!”
E_COOL: “I sorted this mail for E on 7-1 to make it easier on him to process.”
SUPERVISOR (yelling): “I never said for you to sort his mail! It should have been processed over 6 weeks ago! Why is it sitting inside his drawer?”
E_COOL: “It was a long time ago! It should have been done!”
SUPERVISOR (yelling louder): “Long time ago! Long time ago! Jeeze, you are not following directions!
E_COOL: “I did not expect this of him not to process it. I hope he processed it.”
SUPERVISOR (yelling): “I am about to write you up, or have you out the door!”
What happens next: All I did was give the supervisor a mad/ frown look, and with built up anger, I put down this message to my supervisor which eventually got forwarded to administration:
“DO NOT ever put the blame on me especially from an assignment 7-1 which you told me long time ago to sort E’s mail. Maybe it is just that you don’t recall that far back. I would never go behind your back. I do what I am told. Whatever happened is done and over with. E was supposed to process it in which I hope he did already.”
Next day, I was sent to the supervisor’s office and was yelled at showing me evidence that administration personal sent the approval to the supervisor to terminate me immediately.
